Apprenticeships within the Veterinary Science Sector
Apprenticeships have become common place in the Veterinary Nursing community as an accessible route to registered status that support learners, employees and employers but many veterinary businesses are missing key opportunity to upskill their extended teams using apprenticeship funding.
Vicki Mountford, Assessment Manager at iPET Network says “Looking at the teams wider skills and offering complimentary learning opportunities builds confidence in the leadership of a practice. In turn, this increases employee retention, enhances job satisfaction and adds real world value as an employer.”
iPET Network urges veterinary professionals to embrace the ‘always learning’ mantra and investigate apprenticeship routes that previously wouldn’t be considered including Customer Service, Business Administrator, Team Leader. With programmes at level 2-6, learning doesn’t have to be full time and brings solutions straight to the business. As an End Point Assessment organisation, iPET Network also works within the sector to support delivery needs and are keen to discuss opportunities. Being a small but mighty organisation, iPET Network continue to prove their ability to adapt to the changes in the market and work nimbly to craft solutions that help all.
Additionally, iPET Network are always looking to meet Independent End Point Assessors to support this growth and are looking forward to attending this years London Vet Show which is taking place at the ExCel, London on 16 and 17 November 2023. It is an ideal networking opportunity to discuss education and consider adding a sideline revenue income by becoming a freelance assessor.
Sarah Mackay, Director added “We are keen to meet people with veterinary experience and a passion for pet care to grow our network and support the sector through key introductions and success. With a number of veterinary professionals supporting our growth, we offer a diverse platform that sits well alongside your day to day roles.”
