Calls for Veterinary Nurses to become formalised qualification educators for the public have been met with applause in the sector. In an effort to support the pressures faced by professionals with demand outweighing supply, wider education of first aid and preventive healthcare for pet owners is being actively promoted to help alleviate some of the time constraint issues faced by those working in practice.
iPET Network are looking for more passionate educators to join as Training Providers and recognise experienced Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Surgeons have the knowledge to pass on. Sarah Mackay, Director said “Education is the first step in maintaining the welfare of any animal and when that education comes directly from qualified and experienced people, owners and stakeholders can be confident of their teaching.” As an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation, iPET Network is making waves being the first to release a level 3 Canine First Aid qualification followed by a level 3 Equine Emergency First Aid Qualification. Their focus is on developing qualifications to meet the changing needs of Candidates whilst maintaining the focus of welfare. Fern Gresty, Director says “We are keen to meet with specialists who have the ability to impact animal health at all levels. For example, we have recently worked with a nutrition expert to develop a qualification suitable for pet food retailers. Advice and knowledge at this level supports the health of our pets in the long term and it is essential to follow the science as it evolves.”
iPET Networks passion also supports people and offering training can provide a lucrative income stream suitable for established businesses or individuals looking to increase their take home pay. With flexible delivery models and the support of a full online eportfolio, iPET Network enables learners and providers to work together. iPET Network are attending this year’s London Vet Show, which is taking place at the ExCel, London on 16 and 17 November 2023. They are encouraging anyone with an interest to stop by their stand and discuss the range of possibilities.
