New year exciting new challenge for Inverclyde pet professional
Christina O'Donnell has been a pet groomer for seven years, qualifying with the iPET Network and setting up Pawsitively Purrfect in Newark Street, Port Glasgow.
The dedicated groomer left a career as a senior business planner and trainer to pursue the canine profession, and now is looking to put her teaching skills back into use, by becoming a training provider.
She said: "I have had a lifelong love of animals, and can't wait to start teaching others about the profession I love so much.
"I qualified with iPET Network, and I love the qualifications they offer because they are all based on ability, there are no final exams. There is also more theory work too which is a good thing.
"I am already a qualified canine and feline first aid trainer, and am looking forward to welcoming our first students to learn grooming and other skills in 2023."
Animal lover Christina is the proud owner of springer spaniel Dooey, 10 and six year old cats Felix and Fudge.
And in the spirit of representing the entire animal kingdom Pawsitively Purrfect offers grooming for not only cats and dogs, but small animals such as guinea pigs and rabbits too.
Christina added: "We can't wait to welcome new students into the world of Pawsitively Purrfect as we have so much to offer. This salon is the perfect place to start in this brilliant industry."
Sarah Mackay and Fern Gresty, of national awarding organisation the iPET Network, said: "We are so happy that Christina is becoming a training provider. She has a wealth of experience in teaching, and a passion for animals which will give any new groomer an amazing start in the industry."
