On the 11th day of Christmas my truelove gave to me - 11 Perfect Papillons
Breed – Papillon
Brief overview - The breed was once known as a dwarf spaniel and may date back as far as the thirteenth century. Papillons gained popularity in Spain and Italy over time, where they were often depicted in classic paintings. It derives its name from its characteristic butterfly-like look of the long and fringed hair on the ears.
Grooming tip - The Papillon has a double coat so it does require regular bathing and brushing.
Interesting fact – Papillon means butterfly in French. There are rumours that Marie Antoinette had a Papillon named Coco. She walked to the guillotine at Place de la Concorde desperately clutching her beloved pet.
