Rachel Fox - PAWFECT STYLE 

I have been meaning to send this for some time but thanks to Kirsty I have been very busy!!

So I just wanted to tell you about my experience studying on the IPET course with Kirsty Young (she's been married since and changed her name)

I initially applied to get qualified as I had been grooming for a couple of years in a busy salon but had never had any formal training. Although I loved my job and was under no pressure to get a qualification, I wanted to know I was doing the best job I could.

Starting the course was really daunting, I had recently had a huge change in my personal life and I was feeling extremely low. It did cross my mind to cancel the course but I didn't and it was the best decision I could have made.

From day 1, Kirsty made me feel so comfortable. The environment was relaxed but structured, it was made clear that she was always available to me for advice and support both in the practical sense and also with any of the written work that was required. And I know people say this when they're teaching or running a course but honestly, Kirsty was there for me 100%, I don't know how she does it, nothing is too much trouble and she is unbelievably helpful and so supportive, but she also does something else that I didn't know I needed. Kirsty, from day 1 gave me the confidence in my own ability, she believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, I know this sounds quite dramatic but this course, and her delivery has changed my life. Kirsty created a space where we could think freely, be creative, learn new skills, and be fully supported. It didn't matter if i was unsure, she encouraged me to relax and to be able to ask for help if I needed it. I can honestly say that I loved every minute.

Something that I feel was really important to me is that Kirsty not only helped to show me the grooming skills required, but also the business aspect. Kirsty has so much experience and can offer excellent practical advice.

Since finishing the course I have been able to leave the busy salon in which I was working and set up my own grooming studio. With her guidance I now have a fully booked diary, have been able to groom to a high standard, and know that if I need some advice, she is there to help, she's amazing and I really just wanted to let you all know! 

For me, studying on the IPET course was so much more than I anticipated and I would highly recommend anyone who is even just thinking about it to do it, especially if its at Pawfect Style!
